We had a two-storey side and rear extension added to our semi-detached and, from the outset, they were quick to find solutions and get on with the job. They were thoughtful and considerate throughout - to both us and our neighbours. Therefore, we were not only able to continue living in our home during the pandemic, but we were also able to work in it and home-school 2 children with minimal disruption. All of this was down to the high level of organisation and professionalism they brought.

Any unforeseens were quickly addressed, including those arising from the complex roof structure and, where progress slipped, Martin and James were able to draw on their knowledge of local contractors to get back on schedule.

Our wishes and ideas were always accommodated and, when the opportunity came up to retain the original inner layer of brickwork as part of the new bathroom, Martin and James were able to give clear advice as to what could be achieved and we are thrilled with the result.

Remarkably it was all completed in a little over 4 months and any final odd jobs were quickly dealt with to the same high quality of workmanship as the rest of the build.

Our experience of working with Martin and James Adams has been exceptional. We met with 6 different builders when we were starting out and it was through speaking to Martin and James's previous clients that led us to choose them for the project, Like us, the previous clients said they'd use Martin and James again without hesitation.

Some of the areas we were most impressed with were their communication skills (we always felt in the loop and a part of every decision), their ability to keep the project moving (especially within a pandemic) and their "nothings too much of a problem" attitude. It felt like a collaborative process and we were really happy with the contractors they used on the project too.

We were recommended Martin and James through friends and absolutely delighted with their workmanship!

We had a family area and kitchen extension plus added a second storey master bedroom, ensuite and dressing room. We cannot fault the professionalism of Martin and James throughout, being complete novices ourselves about the build they completely took the stresses away and organised everything from the groundworkers to the plasterers and the build was done to the time scale set!

We are extremely pleased with the end result and would not hesitate in recommending Martin and James!

Thrilled to bits with my new kitchen/diner. Work carried out was very good. Just to say, that, being a considerable amount of work to be done, such as walls coming down, creating new kitchen/diner + utility area, we chose to move out for the duration and go on holiday.

Must admit, I was a little bit apprehensive about what I would find on our return - need not have worried! Not only was the workmanship very high quality but also barely a speck of dust to clear up as everything had been cleaned! Great job and I will definitely be recommending to friends!

Fantastic from start to finish

Martin and James were fantastic from start to finish and we would thoroughly recommend them to anyone planning an extension. We added a large extension to the rear of our house that included a huge steel frame, this didn't phase them at all. We always felt that they really cared about our project and whenever we came across an issue they took time to consider the best solution and give us all the options rather than just going for the quickest or easiest.

They were both incredibly patient answering all of our questions (we had lots!) and were always open and honest about everything. The extension cost what they said it would cost and they were happy to make any changes along the way. We are delighted with the finished result and are loving living in it! Thank you Martin.

Martin and James were meticulous in involving us in decisions ...guaranteeing our satisfaction

Martin Adams was originally recommended to us by neighbours who were very pleased with the quality of work done for them.

Now that he has built an extension and converted a large study into a kitchen for us, I am in a position to know how the quality is arrived at.

Although plans from architects and kitchen designers formed the basis of work, there were a myriad of decisions to be made along the way - which bricks to use - how to connect to the drains - which skirting and architrave profiles (to blend with existing ones in an old property) etc. Martin and James could have easily decided on all of these themselves, but were meticulous in involving us thereby guaranteeing our satisfaction with the final outcome.

Another major strength was their access to a network of trusted tradesmen to handle electric, plumbing, plastering, brickwork. All came with the same helpful attitude which meant that we always felt involved and therefore able to influence things when necessary.

Site organisation was always tidy and every possible effort made to minimise disturbance to the rest of the house, which, combined with reliability (no silent absences) and high quality work, confirmed we had made the right choice in Martin and James.

Cost is obviously important and we found Martin to be competitive and always straightforward in his dealings. We can wholeheartedly recommend him.

Martin Adams Ltd exceeded our expectations, we were informed of progress, the site kept tidy, the project was completed on time, within the estimate

The project involved combining an old enclosed covered side passage and a kitchen, with no natural light or ventilation, into a new larger multi use kitchen. We were seeking a general contractor who would carry out an extension, which included some alterations to the existing structure. They were to arrange the heating and electrical work, and install the new kitchen which we had purchased separately.

Martin Adams Ltd were recommended to us and they exceeded our expectations  Work proceeded smoothly, we were informed of progress and the site kept tidy, work well with selected subcontractors. The project was completed on time, within the estimate, and included a few reasonably priced variations.
